Alex is OBSESSED with board games. I need to have a shirt made for him that either says, "I want to play a game" or "I want to play ANOTHER game," because that is what he says. All. Day. Long.
I try to oblige him as much as possible. After all, he learns a lot from the games and it really brings out his intelligence. The problem is, Thomas is either off playing on his own (or on my lap trying to grab the game pieces) while we're playing. We do try to play some games that are on his level (he loves "Go Away Monster" and is learning Candy Land), but sometimes I feel bad for the poor kid. He needs playmates.
So today we sat down for some good old pasta play. We started with a big pan of pasta in various shapes and colors.
The first activity was sorting. You can see the top couple of spaces on this muffin tin that are sorted by color. (I caught this picture JUST before Thomas dumped it. You have to have an old sheet on the floor because Thomas. Is. Messy).
Next, we played a hide and seek game. We took turns hiding little objects in the pasta and digging them out. You can see Thomas covering his eyes in this picture.
Pennies found!
That was our afternoon on Boomerang Drive!
