Advent Days 21-15

Christmas has come and gone, so quickly as always! Here's how we spent our last few days of Advent:

Day 21: Erik took the boys to Dutch Winter Wonderland. We have enjoyed the season passes my parents bought us for Christmas last year -- they included the Winter Wonderland too! I ended up taking them again yesterday, and now we are done with the passes.

Day 22: The boys and I had movie night. We watched Elf.

Day 23: We had breakfast in jammies with friends down the street. I forgot to take a picture, but we had so much fun. The boys played with their friends all day and we ended up staying for lunch.

Day 24: Christmas Eve with family.

Day 25: Christmas!

Advent Days 11-20

Day 11: The boys ran around the library handing out candy canes to people. Just like last year, they had so much fun and made everyone happy!

Day 12: We had friends over and painted these masks. Yes, it's a bad photo -- at the time, there was not a single bit of free space in the kitchen!

Day 13: We went to see the movie Frozen. Somehow I accidentally deleted a few photos, so I can't show you the one of the boys at the theater. But it was an awesome movie and I can't wait to see it again!

Day 14: We made a Christmas board game. Again, I accidentally deleted this photo. I could go get the game out and take another one, but that takes too much work!

Day 15: Erik took the boys to see a concert at his school.

Day 16: We gave gifts to the garbage men and mail man.

Day 17: We had "shop for your brother" night at Five Below.

Day 18: We saw Santa at the library.

Day 19: We made COOKIES with friends!

Day 20: We had an early Christmas with Grandpa and Grandma.

Advent Days 1-10

Hey everyone! It's already December 10, and we are well into Advent mode around here! This is what we've been up to for the past 10 days:

Day 1: We made a paper countdown chain. Each day, the boys will take turns removing a link from the bottom of the chain, to help them see how long it will be until Christmas.

Day 2: We got out all of our Christmas books. The boys really had fun with them.

Day 3: We bought mittens and scarves to donate to the mitten tree at the library.

Day 4: We made snowflakes and decorated the boys' rooms.

Day 5: We made Christmas placemats with friends.

Day 6: We did a Christmas lights scavenger hunt. The boys had a checklist of things to look for, such as a blow-up snowman and a house with blinking lights.

Day 7: We went to see the Christmas model train display that the boys look forward to every year. It also involves a scavenger hunt.

Day 8: We painted ornaments that the boys will give as gifts.

Day 9: We made salt dough cutout ornaments. Messy, but fun.

Day 10: We had some snow, so they played in the snow and drank hot chocolate.

It is definitely beginning to look and feel a lot like Christmas!

That's what's happening on Boomerang Drive!
