Kindergarten Curriculum

Alex's curriculum is here!  After doing some research, we selected the Horizons program, published by Alpha Omega.

For reading, we decided to start halfway through the kindergarten program, because he's already doing some reading now and will have made even more progress by the fall.

Here's a sample page of what he'll be reading by the end of the year.

The reading program comes with a student reader (above) and also a workbook to reinforce grammar, phonics, and spelling skills.

With math, we are going right to first grade.  Here's a page that shows where he'll be by the end of the year!

We plan on just using library resources at this point for science and social studies.  My next steps are to get a loose plan for the year in place, find some extra learning activities to go along with these books, and of course to get some things ready for Thomas as well.

Thomas knows his shapes and colors and can count to 12.  We will be focusing on recognizing numbers and letters as well as learning letter sounds.

I am excited to get started on Boomerang Drive!
