11 Things I Love About My Husband

1.  He is an amazing teacher. From teaching guitar classes as a full time job, to private guitar lessons, to teaching Alex about the solar system, to teaching people how to play board games . . . he has a great way of breaking down information into chunks that are easy for people to understand.

2. He is a great conversationalist. He can talk to anyone about anything. He is great at listening and asking questions to make the other person in the conversation feel valued and interesting.

3. He does what's right. He seeks to be a good person, and has true concern for others. I see this in his every day actions, and in what he teaches the boys.

4. He is an amazing musician. He doesn't always realize it, but he is so talented. Check out his website at www.erikschlosser.com.

5. He can be so, so funny. I can't think of a specific example, but if you know him, you know what I'm talking about.

6. He is crazy smart. He reads a lot and has this amazing ability to retain tons of information. Ask him about music, or about something history or science related, and he'll give you this long answer that sounds like he's reading out of a textbook. But it's all in his head.

7. He is such a great Dad. Whether he is taking the boys hiking, wrestling with them, reading, teaching them obscure music, playing games, coming up with creative projects . . . the boys adore him.

8. He's reliable and consistent. I know I can count on him, and he will be here for me and the boys, no matter what. He's faithful in his marriage and to his family.

9. He's considerate and supportive. He's always making sure everyone around him is happy. He constantly acknowledges my hard work, and offers me breaks and time to myself. He truly believes in the importance of my staying home and giving time to our kids.

10. He's a doer. When I tell him about a little problem, like a light bulb burned out in a high ceiling light or the printer not working, he gets on it right away. Even when I'm fine if he waits until the next day . . . he likes to take care of things. He works so, so hard between work, house stuff, and parenting.

11. He inspires me. He's not content to sit on the couch watching tv all the time, wasting his life away. He reads, plays music, learns, and challenges himself. He is always seeking to be better, to change, and to grow. I'm like that a little bit too, and the two of us have some fantastic conversations and love making plans for the future. It's amazing that no matter how we grow and change, we always end up in the same place, and often, closer together.

Blessed tremendously on Boomerang Drive!
