Mothers Day Musings

The other day, I went to wake Thomas from his extra long nap. When I walked in, he didn't stir. He was out cold. I seized the opportunity and snapped this photo. It's rare that I catch a photo of a sleeping kid.

As spring came about this year, I have suddenly started to realize that we are in a completely different parenting stage. I no longer load the boys into a double stroller and push them through the neighborhood. Nope, we walk, and they run way ahead of me and show me cool things they find. I'm sure last year at some point, I came home tired and sweaty from pushing them up the big hill. Only I had no idea it was the last time I was going to do it.

They are getting big SO fast.

They went to their first sleepover at their grandparents' house last night.

Thomas is learning to write his name.

Alex is MULTIPLYING NUMBERS IN HIS HEAD.

(Those are my glasses but I imagine he'll have some eventually!)

While I will always tell you I am happy to be out of the baby stage, I find myself wanting to pause these ages often. Because they are perfect. I couldn't ask for better kids. I am unfailingly proud of them and tremendously blessed to spend each and every day with them.

Happy Mothers' Day from Boomerang Drive!
